Christmas Magic

It’s that time of year. Time to get our holly jolly on!

Celebrating the holidays with a little one really does make things extra magical. Watching her little face light up when I plugged in the Christmas tree made my heart skip a beat. She’s at that age where anything with bright lights and vivid colors becomes the most interesting spectacle in the world. Her little eyes lock in on the twinkling lights and glittering tensile. And when I lay down beside her, cheek-to-cheek, and see what she sees, I see it too – Christmas magic!

She’s got me thinking; Wouldn’t things be so much more magical if we put aside the hustle and bustle? What if we took a second, found some pretty Christmas lights, and laid down cheek-to-cheek with someone we love to marvel at them, letting the “magic” of Christmas make it’s way in.

Emery doesn’t yet know what Christmas is all about. She doesn’t know about the hustle and bustle, the shopping, the stressing, the cooking, the presents. All she knows is that she likes when her momma sings Christmas songs to her, and that the pretty twinkling lights make her smile. That’s it. And, when we look at things through her eyes, that’s all it takes to bring out the Christmas magic for everyone in our little home.

Christmas magic is in the air, folks. And it’s best seen through the eyes of a child.
